Eireann Iannetta-Mackay | Maket Collective Recital Series 2026 | National Piping Centre, Scotland

In collaboration with TRADtv, the @MaketCollective hosted their first piping Recital Series at the @nationalpipingcentre in April 2026. The recital featured 5 incredible female pipers, had a live audience and was hosted by Hannah Rarity, a leading figure in the Scottish folk scene, celebrated for her exceptional voice & dynamic musical presence.

Eireann grew up in Perthshire and began piping at the age of five, taking early lessons with Dougie Reid alongside her father. She played with local bands before joining the Grade 1 Vale of Atholl Pipe Band at 16, and more recently the Field Marshal Montgomery Pipe Band, with whom she won her first Grade 1 Major Championship in 2025. Her musical development has been shaped by influential teachers including Ian Duncan, Anne Spalding, Margaret Houlihan, and Roddy MacLeod.

An active solo competitor since her junior years, Eireann performs across the Highland games circuit, competing in A grade Piobaireachd and B grade light music, often alongside her husband Sandy Cameron. Growing up next to the Duncan family, she was strongly influenced by the music of Gordon Duncan, while her deep appreciation for Piobaireachd was fostered early through Anne Spalding’s teaching and remains central to her playing today.
